ZIBF Online Forum Moderation Policy
The Zug International Business Forum provides online networking and information exchange within a professional business atmosphere. In order to provide a friendly and respectful environment, we’ve developed a few rules governing online behavior.
Due to the high caliber of our members, online interaction will be self-regulating for the most part. However, we will make use of the moderating functions to keep the ZIBF Online Forum a useful, welcoming place. This policy statement is subject to review but serves as a guideline for both the ZIBF community in general and to our moderators in particular.
1) The use of real names (personal and corporate) typically promotes a more professional environment than pseudonyms or nick-names (as found elsewhere on the Internet). That is why we require your actual name and encourage you to post your photo when you create your “Member Profile.”
2) Helpfulness, friendliness, genuine interest, active involvement, constructive criticism, and a positive attitude are all encouraged.
3) We reserve the right to comment about your posts, publicly on the Online Forum or privately via a direct message to you, to move, trim or modify your posts, and to delete one or more of your posts.
4) Behavior you wouldn't want in your office -- negative attitudes, destructive criticism, etc. -- are discouraged in our Forum, and may be subject to modification or deletion.
5) Aggressive and rude behavior, insults, trolling, hate speech, racist, sexist, sexual, religious, or political discussions do not belong in the ZIBF Online Forum and will be removed by the moderators. Anyone posting such comments is subject to censure or expulsion at the discretion of ZIBF.
6) Discussions taking place on the ZIBF Online Forum should remain relevant to the concerns of the membership. Conversations may include business and professional issues, expat issues, and a variety of topics pertaining to business and life in the region around Zug, Switzerland. Although some conversations may naturally drift, moving too far into unrelated topics may cause the moderator to move a thread to another forum, or start a new thread, possibly in another sub-forum. We will re-locate threads which appear to be in the wrong sub-forum, so before starting a thread, please carefully consider the appropriate posting location.
7) For topics which don't clearly fit into one of the defined forums areas, there's always the Water Cooler, a place for unrelated chit-chat or off-topic discussion.
8) The moderators will make a good effort to keep an eye on the discussions, but can't be expected to see every post immediately. However, you can help with the moderation here. If you find a post which you believe violates this policy, click on the "Report Post" icon (small red "hazard" triangle) in the upper right corner of the post.
